Parents Day Year 2011

The Annual Parents’ Day and Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on Thu, 20^th Oct for the Girls College and Junior School and on Sat, 22^nd Oct for our Boys College. The auditorium of our Girls College, for which a professional sound system has recently been acquired, was the venue for both the functions. Further both the functions consisted of two parts, in which the first was the glimpses of the co-curricular activities in the form of a stage program in the auditorium followed by Prize Distribution and the second was the Science Exhibition in the Seminar Hall. The parents of students participated warmly in these events. The Chief Guest for the Parents Day of Girls College was Prof. Dr. Sarah Safdar, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Peshawar University and that for the Boys College was Prof. Dr. Khan Gul Jadoon, Director COMSATS Abbottabad. The programs presented on stage ranged from Qirat, Hamd and Naat to National songs and tableaus and from short skits and poem recitation to speeches and regional dance presentations. Perhaps the best performances were those of the little Montessori kids who were so dexterous and confident in their display that even the jam-packed crowd did not confuse them for a second. Dressed as birds and butterflies, ducks and turtles, stars and rainbows, they jumped and danced merrily on the stage to the sound of heart-throbbing beats of nursery rhymes. Besides, the regional dances presented by brightly clad youngsters, received much applause.

The theme of Unity in Diversity was well depicted by the students. The two Urdu skits were full of spontaneity and wit. The two English skits were based on classical novels, The Abbott of Canterbury and Hamlet. The costumes and acting of students were appreciated by the audience. After the program, the Principal presented the Annual Report of the College in which the achievements of Modernage in the session 2010-11 were highlighted. Then there was a Prize Distribution Ceremony in which prizes were given to the students who showed brilliant performance both in academics as well as co-curricular activities. There were special prizes for the mothers of the students who got 1^st positions in the Board Examinations. The parents went around the Science Exhibition in the Seminar Hall. The students had made wonderful science projects that were a display of application of knowledge. These functions added a new chapter of fine memories in the minds of the Modernage family.

This success can only be attributed to the tremendous synergy that the team of Modernage is able to create when they not only dream together but also realize those dreams together.
